Violinist Attila Ökrös (1990) is a next generation descendant of a traditional family of musicians from Budapest, Hungary.

 

 

Actualities:

In October 2015, he won absolute first prize at the „Paris Grand Prize Virtuoso” international music competition.Two months later he was invited to perform at the Paris National Opera.

 

In February 2016, he won first prize at the ,,American Protége” international competition, according to that he will have his debut performance at the Carnegie Hall in April 2016.

 

Currently he is teaching at the ,,Vienna Konservatorium” private conservatory in Budapest.

 

 

 

His early years...

Soon he was inspired by arts because of his cymbalist father Oszkár Ökrös, and also because of his painter grandfather. He started to play on the violin at the age of 6. After 2 years of violin studying, he had opportunities to travel around the world, and perform as a soloist together with his father, in such a places like the Concergebouw in Amsterdam, the Olympic Stage and Palace Elysee in Paris or the Suntory Hall in Tokyo.

 

In 2001, he joined the class of the special talents at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music Budapest, where he was taught by a great russian teacher, Natasha Chernogolovkina. In this period, the Hungarian „Profit” business Magazine selected him as one of the 25 most promising talents of the nation.

 

Since 2009, he was invited as a soloist or a chamber musician to such classical music festivals as like as the "Collegium Musicum" in Germany, the "Encuentro de Música y Academia de Santander" in Spain, the "Talentinum" in Czeck Republic, or the Ravello Festival in Italy. In those festivals he had opportunity to share the stage with world reknowned artists like Natalia Gutman, Martha Argerich, Alessandro Carbonare, Zakhar Bron or Elisso Virsaladze.

 

In these years he was playing in many concerts as a soloist, with the Hungarian Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra in the greatest halls of Hungary, such as the Béla Bartók Hall of the National Palace of Arts, the Great Hall of the Franz Liszt Academy of Music, or the National Crown Hall of the Hungarian Parliament. In June of 2011 he finished his Bachelor Degree at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music Budapest with excelent honours in the class of Prof. Miklós Szenthelyi.

 

In September of 2012 he have got the opportunity to finish his Soloist Master Degree in the class of the prestigous Oistrakhs, in the Royal Conservatoire of Bruxelles.

 

After his graduation he was working for one year as the concertmaster of the Orquesta Sinfonica Sinaloa de Las Artes in Mexico. In the same period he gave his first international Master Class, where he demonstrated his own way of teaching, that he named the "Quantum jump".

 

After 1 year working as concertmaster he finished his job in Mexico in order to prepare and participate at some international competitions.So he moved back to Hungary in June,2015.

 

 

In his early years he also participated the masterclasses of Marco Rizzi, Pavel Popov, Itzhak Rashkovsky, Eszter Perényi, Márta Gulyás and Simon Standage. From his early years he has the possibility to make solo recordings for the Hungarian National Radio, for the Hungarian National Television and also for the Czech National Radio.
